Some days, waiting weighs more than I’d like

I don’t know if this has happened to you, but there are moments when you feel like you’re doing everything "right," and yet, nothing changes. You pray, you wait, and you trust. And the silence is still there.

I remember a specific season in my life when I felt God had given me a clear promise, but as time passed, the only thing that seemed to move forward was uncertainty. Every day I wondered if I had misunderstood, if I had heard wrong, or if God had simply forgotten.

Over time, I understood something vital: faith doesn't eliminate the wait, but it does give it meaning. That’s what I want to talk about today.

Faith that sustains when you see nothing

Hebrews 11 opens with a definition many of us know by heart, but don’t always live out:

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

We know that faith isn't about denying reality. I would say it’s about trusting even when reality doesn't yet reflect what I’m waiting for—whether that’s a promise, a miracle, or a change.

The story of Abraham isn't the story of a perfect hero, but of a man who learned to walk with God without having the full map. sin tener el mapa completo.

A promise that requires leaving the familiar

The first step is always uncomfortable

Abraham receives a command that doesn't come with detailed explanations: leave, go, walk… without knowing where he was going..

This always confronts me because I usually want guarantees before I obey. Abraham obeyed first and understood later.

There are decisions God asks us to make when we still don’t have all the answers—changes that involve letting go of security, comfort, or even people.

Faith begins there: when we take the step without seeing the result.

The wait is also part of the promise

God promises Abraham a nation… but years pass. Too many years. The wait wasn't passive; it was formative.

Sometimes we believe that if a promise isn't fulfilled quickly, it wasn't from God. But often, the wait is the place where God works most deeply..

    I have learned that:

    • Faith is strengthened over time.
    • Anxiety reveals where I am placing my trust.
    • The wait brings to light what I truly believe about God.

Waiting isn't resignation. Waiting with faith is learning to rest in God even when the answer hasn't arrived yet.

Faith that trusts even when it hurts

The hardest moment comes when Abraham is tested in an unthinkable way. The very son who represented the promise… now had to be surrendered.

This passage always reminds me that authentic faith isn't just about receiving; it’s also about trusting when surrendering hurts..

Abraham didn't have all the answers, but he had one thing clear: God is faithful. That conviction sustained him.

Looking through eyes of faith changes your perspective

There are moments when we don't see provision, we don't see a way out, and we don't see an answer. But faith invites us to look up. When Abraham looked up, he found what God had already prepared.

Faith doesn't create miracles. Faith allows us to recognize what God is already doing, even when we don't fully understand it.

What do we do while we wait?

This is where the message becomes practical. Faith isn't passive. It’s lived out in small, constant, and often silent decisions.

    Waiting with faith involves:

    • Praying even when there is no emotion.
    • Obeying even with doubts.
    • Trusting without controlling.
    • Resting without resigning.

Faith isn't just lived in big decisions, but in the mundane, in the small things, in what no one else sees.

    A challenge for this week

Take a moment and write down the following:

    1. In what area of your life do you need faith today?
    2. What is in your hands to do while you wait?
    3. What promise or biblical truth can sustain you during this time?

This challenge isn't meant to solve everything today; it’s about walking with intention.

    Over the next 7 days:

    • Elige Choose just one area where you are currently waiting.
    • Each day, pray briefly: “God, I trust You even here.”
    • Avoid seeking control and practice waiting.
    • Note any changes in your way of thinking, not just in your circumstances.

Faith grows when it is practiced. Faith isn't the absence of doubt; it’s the daily decision to trust in God’s character. Waiting is not a waste of time; waiting with faith is allowing God to complete His work

And even if you don’t see everything clearly today, the promise is still on the way..
